It’s almost been 72 hours since I’ve called to have my number changed. T-mobile told me it would take 3 to 72 hours. I’ll wait and see.

I bought my new phone from Amazon.com yesterday. They assigned me a number, but say I can call once I get the phone and get my old number transferred from Verizon to T-Mobile. We’ll see how it all goes and how long it takes.

What will happen:
Telephone plan prices will go down, but contracts will be longer. Instead of the 1-year contract, you may find the 2-year-contract. Despite the fact that the number protability will raise the cost for the phone service providers, they will want to attract new customers and hence lower their prices.
