As of now, over 23,000 people have died and over a million have been forced from their homes in the strongest earthquake in 4 decades. Most people died not from the shocks of the quake itself, but the tsunamis that raced across the Indian Ocean of speeds up to 500 MPH.

At the end of every year, things happen. I have never heard statistists or historians point this out. Maybe it’s because it’s the holiday season that we notice more. But things happen. Over 23,000 people just died in a massive earthquake. Last year this time, 31,000 people died in an Iranian Earthquake
