CNN: Microsoft’s Virtual Earth, its new satellite photo service, “mysteriously” has an old photograph of Apple’s headquarters. Instead of the 11 modern buildings Apple now has, Microsoft’s satellite picture shows an old warehouse and empty parking lot.

Backups aren’t very useful if you can’t retrieve the data off of them. Just because you’ve been lucky for years and never had to retrieve data doesn’t mean that your data is accessible.

Step 2: Make sure your backup is retrievable.
