About
My name is Theresa.
I was born one September day in the city of Amsterdam. I became the oldest of four and always was pretty close to my siblings. I lived there, in Amsterdam, till I was 7, when we moved to a town called Houten, not far from Utrecht. When I was 9 years old, my parents decided to move the family to Chicago, where I lived up until recently.
In February 2004, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from DeVry University with Bachelor’s Degree in Network and Communications Management. Technology is an awesome force, that aids us in better communicating, or should anyway.
I have been working in the technology field since before I graduated and have gained knowledge in workstations, servers, networking, and dealing with troubled users. I am currently an IT Systems Administrator for a web development company where I constantly deal with technology, communications, and people. I love computers and have my own testing network at home. It’s a constant learning experience to keep up with new technologies and the effects they have on people.
Another thing that has greatly impacted my life was the death of my dad when I was 18. He died of cancer after struggling for a few months. My dad meant a lot to me and in some ways was my mentor and teacher. It’s easy to praise the dead, but I do hope that I have his patience and ability to teach others in whatever way helps them learn best.
Right now I’m settling into a new life in a new state. I’ve got a new job and am really happy to finally be living with my husband. Life is mine for the taking.
